Roxy Women’s Backcountry Session Returns to Argentina with SASS Global Travel
SASS Global Travel (SGT) and action-sports giant Roxy team up again in 2012 to bring pro snowboarders Erin Comstock and Robin Van Gyn to San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina for backcountry coaching, guiding and other women’s-specific events.
HAMPTON, NH – May 16th — SASS Global Travel is proud to announce the launch of the 2012 Roxy Women’s Session at its Argentina operation, stationed in the mountains above Bariloche, Argentina from August 22th to September 1st, 2012. The Roxy Women’s Session is focused on getting women riders into the backcountry and improving every aspect of their snowboarding. The vast terrain of these Patagonian mountains offers the perfect setting for adventure, fun, camaraderie and pushing yourself to your limit or just getting your first taste of big mountain riding. Featuring Erin Comstock and Robin Van Gyn returning to Argentina in 2012, SGT is set to welcome an even larger group of women freeriders this year for our best year yet.
SGT has been at the forefront of progression in the women’s freeride movement for years, and is proud to be partnering with Roxy again for the 2012 Women’s Session. “After the response to this program last season, and the overall lack of pow in the Northern Hemisphere this year, we’re expecting a sell-out season.” said SGT Managing Director Travis Moore. SGT and Roxy will be improving on last year’s freeride coaching and guiding program, and will continue to support signature events going on during the Session like the Chicas Only slopestyle contest and a Women in the Industry seminar. “SGT Argentina is the most unique program I’ve ever been to,” says Roxy’s Women’s Session coach Erin Comstock. “You’re in the middle of winter, hitting cliffs, jumps, and powder. It’s a camp for backcountry – that’s pretty awesome!”
The Roxy Women’s Session runs concurrently with SGT’s Adults Only Session from August 22th to September 1st, 2012 – perfect timing for the biggest dumps of the Southern Hemi season, known as the Santa Rosa. Starting at $2995 for a signature 11-Day program, Women’s Session riders will have access to all of SGT Argentina’s amenities, including slopeside lodging, daily breakfast and dinner, backcountry education, 24/7 logistics support, local airport transfers, and discounted airfare through LAN Airlines.
