ESA Championships: Tuesday’s Photo And Adult Champs

Posted on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 in Boarding News, Surfing

Day three of the 42nd annual ESA Championships—affectionately called “The Easterns” ‘round these parts—was held today (despite a midday rainstorm of epic proportions) at Lighthouse Jetty on the Outer Banks in waist to chest high and rippable surf. The adult divisions wrapped up today and as usual, Floridian surfers were the standouts. While New Hampshire legend Peter Pan claims that it’s because they’re used to surfing crappy waves, I’m of the belief that it’s because they just plain rip! Check the results of all the adult divisions below…

Anyway, the kids are all geared up to start their ESA title hunts tomorrow and with conditions predicted to be on the fun side, we’re looking forward to a heavy dose of shredding from “The Best Of The East”. Go get ‘em kids, the world is watching! To check the schedule and more info, go to SurfESA.org.—Justin Cote

ESA Championships Get Underway On The Outer Banks

Posted on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Boarding News, Surfing

The Eastern Surfing Association welcomes the best surfers from the East Coast back to Cape Hatteras for the 42nd annual gathering of “The Best Of The East” at Lighthouse Jetty on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We arrived Sunday just in time for the ESA Kickoff Party and were greeted with some down home barbecue…delicious! The adult divisions are currently being run in chest high and windy surf and the kids start up Wednesday in what’s supposed to be pretty good surf. Check out the photo gallery and tune in daily for updates!
